There are a few people who asked me who I thought is going the president....Before the whole rally thing started up,I didn't know who the Tans were.Tan Tock Seng was the only famous Tan I know of.
I know nuts about politics,neither am I eligible to vote for the next president.Growing up,I have alway been a fan of the Opposition parties,like many,I want to see changes to Singapore.I always have this mentality that The opp party can bring changes.
so Why am I talking about this?
A couple of days back,I remember my father and grandmother telling me the history of Singapore
They said that Singapore used to be the same as the rest of the countries,like Phillipines,Vietnam,Malaysia,Cambodia.All the countries had one thing in common....being poor.
It was because of people like Lee Quan Yew and Goh Keng Swee who changed the landscape of our country,Malaysia had followed our foot steps that's why they are who they are today.
My father also believes that without them,We would still be poor,No Gucci,No prada,No Iphone,maybe even no macdonalds.
We used to be so poor that my grandmother who was selling Kuehs(Cakes/Pastries) was forced to go to Malaysia everyday to sell them.(See the change that many wanted?)
People are complaining about tax,this and there,instead of a better tomorrow....
People are saying what they demand out of the president.I remember reading a news article saying that the president cannot speak unless the Cabinet ask him to,so it's as good as signing up to be a mute.Well,that's just my opinion.
No,I'm not saying PAP is better or anything,but if I were to vote I would choose the one who can make the biggest impact in changing our country,regardless the party or whatsoever.
