The Madness of perfection

Hey...You probably think I'm going to say that It's been a while and I'm going to bring back my blog and start posting things in my life every single day....Well,I really wish I had the time,I've been really busy with what I'm doing, things like Music and things of that sort, but I'm not that washed up to be having for every single post "Hey,It's been a while since I posted, but today......",but to ensure you get my daily update, maybe you can try follow me on twitter,it's @Iamsengann This is probably just going to be a one time thing.I wanna talk about my work experience in the time I spent in Fullerton Yes,I know there are many different place set up by the Fullerton company in that is in that area.I want to talk about the few different department I've worked for. My first work department assigned was to Lantern. Lantern is really one of the most gorgeous place to view the Singapore Skyline and enjoy your favorite alcohol mix,It's located right at the peak of Fullerton Bay Hotel, right by the side of a swimming pool.To just describe it with words does not do it justice and there is a residence Deejay keeping you company from the late night into To make it fair,I can only talk about my work experience there. For a place where you can have a great view of the Beautiful sights of town,It would definitely be a place where business is thriving right? If you guess right, well, you are right.Otherwise, you're wrong. It is really a very busy place considering it being a 5 star hotel,so there definitely much time for digest pretty much anything.Pretty much everything you have to do there is to be learnt on the job. On my first day,I didn't have much training, nor hospitality experience,I didn't know how to even hold a tray,so I was hoping not to spill any drink on anyone. The managers there I worked with are pretty nice to the waiters, but the rush hour starts, they get really mad real quick, for reasons like going to TWICE for a 8 hour shift and you'll have to move very quickly and get things done.I ended my two days of work there. I got moved to In-room dining in Fullerton hotel,so basically I go to rooms to get what the guest request for and in cases where there are events occurring like F1,people would book function rooms to have a place to view the race, the staff at IRD in short, would become the waiter or go to rooms to give out complimentary desserts. I found this job really fun,at least it is less stressful for the higher-ups given compared to Lantern, the managers at the IRD were more helpful, they taught us what to do in their department and a briefing on each specific day, maybe because the Job is not as fast paced. This were the work experience I had in 2011,I thought it would probably be the last time I worked in a 5 star hotel ever again. I was wrong,I was all set to to be a promoter of the mooncake for Fullerton, which didn't have due to the miscommunication issues of the Agency and the hotel,I got back to fullerton, but this time I worked at this place called Town. Town is a restaurant that has all of Singapore's famous local food like Laksa,Char Kway Teow,Chicken Rice,Satay among many others in a buffet,I think it's pretty worth the money. It is located at the left corner of Fullerton Hotel after entering the Hotel through it's stunning revolving door. So,as a waiter,My job was just about wiping plates, then restocking them if they are running out and clearing the trays at the respective stations to the Stewarding area. The Managers at Town were also quite detailed on what I had to do It wasn't really tough, but the other co-workers that came in with me soon quit after this, either that or...Well,I'm not really sure what happened to them.I got transferred once again thanks to the communication issues once again. I was sent to Courtyard this time. Courtyard is located at lobby of the Fullerton Hotel,It is splited into 2,One named North, which has the Japanese buffet,Chocolate buffet and Coffee and Tea,if needed, the other named South, which has Coffee/Tea and also an Indian buffet. I was assigned to the North Courtyard,My job is to clear the empty used plates from the tables, help customers with whatever they need, bring the empty plates from the North Courtyard to the other courtyard,if you have seen the place, you would know that it is a very long distance. I'm assume the managers were still a little green, because they really didn't have any idea on what to do with me,when I first came, but soon after that I got taught quite a few things. It was sort of fun working there as well, good experience. I haven't got to try out any other parts of the hotel yet,nor will I ever try again(I hope....).I think working in such environment is sheer utter MADNESS,I applaud anyone who is working in such environment now,You have my respect.

Rovering?

My venture days are about to come to an end,I have no intentions to carry on with rovering any time soon....well,as of right now at least. There are a few reasons why.....

The Best In The World
If you wanna be at the top this "intense sport" and stay at the top level, you need 120% mental commitment.Right now,I'm at about 70.That's what I believe in,I believe I should be the best in the world at everything I do,If I didn't,you can just take out a gun and shoot me right now, because that is the worst attitude one can have.

Still young and immature

Personally,I feel that there are more things I need to learn before I can lead people in skill and everything else.I also don't feel I'm at that age to lead anyone yet.Someone once said to me that "Venture is still like kidish like that,Rover is like adult liao mah" or something like that,I still kinda feel like a small kid.....I will strengthen my skill during my time off from scouts, using a particular Green manual by a some random Group scout leader.

A world out there ....
Another reason would be the same reason why I decided to take a 3 months vacation from Ventures back in July,I wanted to try something else, you can't keep doing the same thing and expect a different result,so there are many things out there that I wanna try, especially after knowing all these different places my band is gonna go....

Being around of great people
I heard that there are quite a long list of people that's going onto rovering,There hasn't been such a long list in quite a while already. Most of them deserved it,but me....Not so much though.

2011

I have constantly been trying to find time to talk about the year of 2011,what it have brought me,the year of 2012 and what I expect to happen this year and what my new year's resolutions are.I have been totally busy ever since november last year.

First of All,I totally understand how people "Blogging" is no longer hip or cool.To me,it never has,it has been more of a diary,A journal or something like that. It's not that it's no longer hip,so I stopped blogging.I never did stop,I was busy, you doofus...

Second of all,2011 has been awesome to me
  • Decent grades
  • I went to my very first concert
  • I went to 5 different concerts(with 4 being free,I might add)

It sums up my pretty sweet year, but it's not joy,fun and laughter,I missed the concert of All Time Low,which i really regret and completing the past new years resolution and spending the transition between 2011 to 2012 ALONE.

what to expect in 2012?

I hope to do better in school than before probably be getting at least minimum 3.0GPA,Trying to go for every big concerts that are in Singapore,so I won't regret.

What I'm going to do in 2012?
